Former Presidential candidate of National Action Council (NAC), Dr Olapade Agoro on Wednesday lauded governor of Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola over the setting up of 21 man Food and Relief Committee.
Dr Agoro in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan stated that the setting up of the committee by the governor was timely and a right step in a right direction at this critical period of COVID 19 and the resulting lock down.
The former NAC Presidential candidate maintained that the 21 man Food and Relief Committee comprised of eminent and globally respected personality would cushion the effect of restriction placed on human and vehicular movements across the Osun State meant as measure to curb the spread of menace of Coronavirus aka Covid 19 in Osun State.
“Perusing through the quality, pride and honour containment of the 21 names in the Governor Oyetola’s list, one would have like to suggest that the term of reference is rather too narrow and limiting. Those great men and women could be trusted with an extension of term far beyond curbing Covid 19 which ugly term the Almighty God will sooner than expected be short and limiting for those 21 great people to have much to do.” he said.
Dr Agoro added, “one will like to suggest that the trust to be laid on those 21 men and women should be allowed if possible to last the rest present term in office of Governor Gboyega Oyetola and further till another 4 years term the Almighty God willing. Since a good term deserves another.”
